FAQ
Clear expectations make better collaborations. Browse by topic, then send a brief if your idea needs a more specific answer.
Before you begin
Bring the idea. It can still be rough.
How do I start a commission?
Use the commission builder to choose an outcome, composition, finish, intended use, and timeline. Add your contact details and send the generated brief; no payment is taken at this stage.
What should I include in my brief?
Describe the subject, pose, expression, atmosphere, palette, and any details that must be included or avoided. Reference images and a short explanation of what you like about each one are especially helpful.
What kinds of projects are a good fit?
Character-focused portraits, illustrations, original-character work, and visual development are the clearest fit. A request may be declined if the subject is outside the artist's comfort level, asks for an exact imitation of another artist, or cannot fit the available schedule.
Pricing & payment
Know the scope before committing.
How is my quote calculated?
Each piece is quoted individually after the composition, character count, rendering level, background complexity, deadline, and intended use are clear. The written quote explains what is included before you agree to proceed.
When is payment due?
The payment schedule and accepted method are confirmed with the quote. Work begins only after you approve the scope and complete the agreed first payment; do not send money before receiving those written details.
During creation
A visible process, without surprises.
How long will the artwork take?
A first reply usually arrives within 1 to 2 business days. The production window depends on current availability and complexity, so the confirmed schedule is included in your quote rather than promised by the form alone.
Can I request changes?
Yes. The quote states which review stages and how many revision rounds are included. Larger changes after an approved stage may change the price or schedule, and that impact is confirmed before additional work continues.
What happens if the project is cancelled?
Cancellation and refund terms depend on how much work has been completed. Those terms are provided in writing before payment, including what happens to completed sketches and whether any unused portion is refundable.
After delivery
Files and rights, stated plainly.
What files will I receive, and how should I credit the art?
The quote identifies the delivered file formats, dimensions, and any alternate versions. Unless agreed otherwise, credit Mirayami when the work is posted publicly and do not remove a signature or claim the artwork as your own creation.
Does a personal commission include commercial use?
No. Personal-use permission does not include resale, merchandise, advertising, branding, or other revenue-generating use. If the work supports a business or monetized project, disclose that in the brief so an appropriate written license can be included in the quote.
